Camillo's suitcase has not arrived at the hotel, but we will still walk back to the Notre Dame for the midnight mass. Fortified with dinner and wine, we should survive.
Today's walk took us from the Jardin du Luxembourg through the area around Notre Dame, including a walk through the Cathedral and the Crypte of Notre Dame, and to around the Museu Carnavalet and Place Des Vosges. Taking out time for breakfast and lunch, both very light and French, we walked for 5 hours and saw a lot of beauty.
The first angel in two views was in the gardens. The stylist above a small church on a side street. Painting in the Museum.
One of the many statues decorating the front of Notre Dame.
Angels with the nativity inside Notre Dame.
Paris is one place where you can find a lot of angels. They are beautiful, too!
ReplyDeleteI know you are having a wonderful time. Wish I could have figured out a way to stowaway in your suitcase. For your next trip I will have to find one of those mushroomy things Alice ate that made her small.
Merry Christmas to you two!
Glad to see you aren't still stuck in an airport, and that you haven't frozen there in chilly Europe. And luckily you have no shortage of incredible angels; I bet you've been planning this angel-spotting excursion in Paris for weeks! Have fun, and Merry Christmas.
ReplyDeleteSuch a stunning selection of angels. Thanks for the tour of Parisienne angels!
ReplyDeleteHmm, looks like today's Shootout is all about angels!
ReplyDeleteI love the first photo! It's like a real big mystery amidst those swirling branches!
The photo with the misplaced head scared me for a bit lol. Who was he again?

I like the one with the man holding his head. Have a wonderful time.
ReplyDeleteI'm glad you're having a good time in Paris, and hope the luggage arrives soon!
ReplyDeleteSaint Denis (with the head in his hands) is always a favorite, as he walked around for quite some time after his beheading, doing good and just works.
Happy holidays!
Wow, these are great. You can almost feel their presence. I can't imagine walking around for five hours, but it sounds like you enjoyed it. I hope you are having a wonderful Christmas.

ReplyDeleteGees, lots of comments. We were at ND a few weeks ago but lacked sufficient time to spend much there. It will be on my list for my next visit, once we find a reasonable hotel that doesnt cost an arm and a leg.
