A Small bit of information

On Thursday of this last week I wrote a short post about the Brasilian coffee plantations.  I could have written more but I just wanted to set a scene for the photos not tell the whole history.  There are books and articles and other blogs that tell plenty.
You need this extra bit of information though: I have added a couple links to the original post to clarify the area and the farms we visited.

  1. I loved your Friday post although I didn't get around to visiting posts until today. The pigs feet didn't bother me -- but what were those squirmy looking things to the left?

  2. Ginger, you are so sweet with your comments on my blog. Thank you for the advice. It's not that he's crying inconsolably...actually he cries a lot less than Deaglan used to. It's that he won't sleep at night. I put him in his bassinet after he's fed, changed, bathed (all the stuff you do to make sure they are comfortable) and he maybe sleeps for 30 minutes before he's up fussing, squirming and eventually crying. If it was something with his diet I would expect a different set of symptoms but he's gaining weight like a champion, growing like a weed and during the day is sleeping beautifully. I can't seem to get the day and night switched. The book I referred to says to try to feed him more during the day but it is virtually impossible to feed a baby who just wants to sleep. Then at night because he's slept so much and eaten so little he is wide awake and starving.

I know that this phase will pass but it is tough!

I agree with you about letting them cry it out at this age. a few of my friends who had babies recently tried this and their kids are sleeping 7 and 8 hour stretches. But their babies are also a lot smaller than mine - maybe it has to do with how big he is. I don't know. If I could, I would hire someone to help me believe me!
