As far as I can tell, having walked Nova Friburgo downtown area many times, there are not aquariums here. Neither big public one nor little ones for the home. There are pet stores with doggy stuff, and bird stuff, but it just isn’t the habit here to have fish or cats in the home. Maybe its the heat or the humidity or the proximity to the ocean or that if you want a fish here it needs to be a fresh caught – dead one. I did remember seeing fish in the pond at the park of the sitting dog so I went back into my archives to find you a fish story.
That's a great one, Ginger! Me too I was stumped for a while what to shoot in an aquariumless town.
ReplyDeleteI am jealous, since I am in a frozen pond right now!
ReplyDeleteI used to love going to the Japanese gardens and feed the Koi!
What a fun post Ginger! I had a great time.
ReplyDeleteMade me a little hungry for diner though!
I love that shot of the ducks looking at the fish. They look like they are thinking something!
ReplyDeleteI was darn lucky to find some private aquariums around town. It turned out better than I had anticipated.

Natual aquariums are always better than those in glass. Great job, Ginger.
ReplyDeleteThat looks to be a very well fed goldfish. You know I really like the picture of the goose looking down at the water, her reflection showing on the surface, a very pretty shot. Good for you, posting a good story even though the topic was a challenge; if you can do this you'll never miss a Friday!
ReplyDeleteGood take on this week's theme, I had to go to a shot selling ornament fish to take photo secretly, as they don't allow photography! lol
ReplyDeleteLove it! Love it! Well done, you!!
ReplyDeleteLove the waterfowl - great take on this week's theme!
ReplyDeleteThe fish is so big it looks like it could eat a duck rather than the other way round! Well done at finding a way round a difficult topic.
ReplyDeleteWell done for a non-aquarium place. I enjoyed the fish-duck interchange alot.
ReplyDeleteI love the outdoor theme of your post. I am getting claustrophobic of all the indoor aquariums. This is like a breath of fresh air!
ReplyDeleteIn my neighbour park Wetsern Springs, it is very much like your, the feathered birds and fish co exist. May be because there is so much food thrown by visitors.
ReplyDeleteLove your fish story. It's the first true fish story I have ever heard.
ReplyDeleteGreat post, GingerV.
That's a great fish story!!! Beautiful pictures.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful pictures...I have said this before (I think) that I love how full of light your photos are...they always make me feel happy. :)
