Final stanza of ‘Time Stands Still’ ….
“Summer's going fast, nights growing colder
Children growing up, old friends growing older
Freeze this moment a little bit longer
Make each sensation a little bit stronger
Experience slips away
Experience slips away...
The innocence slips away”
Time is dynamic not static and to represent time ‘standing still’ in photo I thought that I would show fleeting moments. Time stopped with the photo and in the next seconds that moment is gone not to ever be repeated: A child’s first step, a butterfly landing on your hand, a ray of light glowing just right in the valley. Only caught if in the right place at the right time and with your camera in hand.
Sunrise 4th of July, 2004 One moment of glory caught on disc (almost wrote film – that would be time standing still.) never to be seen again.

I just love that last ray over the mountains, simply breathtaking!
ReplyDeleteSunrise and sunset were good photos to represent Time. Also a photo of a one year old shows the passage of Time. She is a cutie. :)
ReplyDeletewhat a marvelous sky! :)
ReplyDeleteOh my...I really like your explanation and the way you handled this. But I cannot pick among your own pictures which ones do that best -- catch that moment. The first shot, of course, is wonderful. The shot of sunlight slipping away off the cloud as the sun disappears is the perfect metaphor. And yet the shot of you and Camillo -- with Camillo's hand reaching out as if to grab retreating time...what a marvelous collection!
ReplyDeleteThese are all delightful! Everything occurs in the blink of an eye.
ReplyDeleteTimeless expression love it!

Wonderful moments of time. That sunrise is just glorious.
ReplyDeleteLove your cloud, but I think the photos of you and your family reflect time best, that moment captured and kept forever.
ReplyDeleteThank you all for suggesting how to solve my problem with blogger. It is fixed for now, after changing to Google Chrome. Keeping my fingers cross.
ReplyDeleteHowever, Google chrome won't let me use Yahoo and Facebook, so I have to use two Browsers.
Since, they revamp, it's no longer fun anymore,
Oe year old birthday is a big thing for the Chinese. They celebrate this, and then wait 61 years for the next, and then every decade.
I love how you captured and expressed a moment in time, each one of them unique.
ReplyDeleteI love your creative take on this subject.
