shallow depth of field…

Up here in Friburgo this morning it is just beautiful, a great day to walk the garden with my camera, but I’ve left my Nikon in Rio hoping I won’t get more mildew in it before our trip to Italy at the end of this month.  Plus this is a holiday weekend, Brazil’s independence day, so I am staying at the house and out of traffic – giving me no where to go and no camera to go with, leaving me a shallow depth of field in which to work.  (Smile)

Wanting to represent Brazil this morning, I did a search through my ‘flowers’ archive folder looking for just one photo that shows a shallow depth of field.    The first was taken with my first digital, and before I even know what ‘shallow depth of field’ was, got lucky.

  1. I think some of our best stuff happens when we don't know what we are doing. Have a wonderful trip to Italy.

    1. thank you Kim. after you and Mark looked at my one flower I went back and added more. I had been to everone's post and felt guilty for making such a small effort.

  3. Gorgeous!!! Your photos always stun me. You'd think by now I'd be used to the quality of what you shoot, but no, every time, something takes my breath away. Truly.

  4. The one of the parrot is beautiful. The green in the broken limb is so bright. All are great shots.

  8. I'm fainally catching up from last week, got back home last night. Love the parrot! Would never have thought to try for depth of field with a bird shot. I just hope they will sit still!
