I sit here in my sister’s home in Adrian Michigan, waiting for inspiration. I have been waiting a while. I thought that this week I would have something funny and charming to say. And I sit here waiting for it to happen.
I have been in Michigan since midday on Monday. I came after the peak of fall color but it has still been beyond beautiful. After nearly 8 years of GREEN, green, green in Brasil to have this week in COLOR has been absolute joy for me. If you have followed "’Flowers’ for very long, you know I love color in my photos. There have been times when we have used black & white photographs for the FSO and I am never happy with the results – I see in color, I feel in color, I want to take photos in color.
This week while trying to find patterns, I was almost overwhelmed with color. I have seen patterns everywhere – not any interesting plaids, or geometric patterns of any real interest (for me) but patterns of color and light.
Patterns in nature and those made by man: for me patterns in nature tend to be asymmetric and those designed by man symmetric. And, you guessed it, I like the natural, the asymmetric best.
Thanks for sharing these vivid autumn shots from Michigan, a feast for the eyes!
ReplyDeleteOh Ginger, how I wished I were there. We don't get a lot of color here in our part of SC but I have been blessed to see The Fall in both Maine and Connecticut.
ReplyDeleteYour photos are beyond words, they took my breath away.
Beautiful leafs for patterns
ReplyDeletewow, such gorgeous colors!
ReplyDeleteMagnificent leaves, Ginger!
ReplyDeleteThe trees turn colors around here too, but nothing like the spectacular show to be seen in North America.
Welcome to the world of color, and Wow...did you ever do a super job of finding 'Fall colors and patterns'...every shot...just beautiful. Enjoy your stay in the USA!
ReplyDeleteAha! Fall in Michigan! You always seem to be in the right place at the right time!
ReplyDeleteWhat a beautiful photo show. Your photos are excellent of course. And yes the pattern of the fallen leaves is there. A pattern of lay where you fall. Makes this old lady want to run through the leaves with joyous childishness. What a happy time.I have up in Michigan in the fall. Truly beautiful.
ReplyDeleteQMM
QMM - my sister Candy and I have walked nearly everyday. walking along the sidewalks, through the leaves on the ground, kicking up the leaves, making them rustle and fly - I love that and it has brought back so many childhood memories.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful fall colors and patterns.
ReplyDeleteI know what you mean, Ginger. After all the green in the north of NZ I was like a child in wonderland when I visited Canada in the fall. Give me the asymmetric every time. The only place I want the symmetrical is in my life - I call it balance. Your photos are glorious.
ReplyDeleteGorgeous pictures! Sometimes I feel the same about blogging. I want to write but have nothing to say. I just leave it on those days. Hope you are having a great visit with your sister.
ReplyDeleteI love the way you captured the beauty of the leaves!
ReplyDeleteI'm loving the leaves, they're so colorful !
ReplyDeleteCheers
