I really struggled with this week’s topic. My favorite things, hiking, nature photography, mountain views off my veranda, the grandkids (both mine and Camillo’s), the young people at the gym, all of this has been talked about so many times I couldn’t come up with something in Brasil that is a favorite thing of mine. What to do, what to do?
Coming home from the gym today I saw flowers, flowers on fences, flowers on gate, and flowers on trees. YES! what better for ‘flowers and more’ to feature than the flowers that I have around me every day this time of year. So here are a few of my favorites…..

We could combine our posts and call it "Fish, Flowers and More."
ReplyDeleteMaybe there's a poem in there somewhere. Maybe a story about a fisherman who keeps his wife's flowers beautiful by burying the heads around her roses. The plot sounds kindof thorny, though.

ReplyDeleteOh, beautiful Brazilian flowers! How lovely! We are so jealous of all the borders of blue hydrangea. They look like foamy waves. The lilies are exquisite and so is that purple flower that seems about to pop. No flowers here, Ginger. It will snow on Wednesday.... The morning sun peaking through the trees is such a cheery sight. thank you for sharing these favorites of yours!

ReplyDeleteSo beautiful! I especially love the photo of the hydrangeas--in part because of its beauty and in part because I simply adore hydrangeas. They were the main flower in my wedding bouquet, and so your photo of them has made me smile :)
ReplyDeleteFlowers, glorious flowers. My hydrangea hedge was just like yours until my elderly neighbour decided to give it a real trim.
ReplyDeleteLast sat, in a surban where I used to live when I was a student, they have a festival with a Brazilian theme. I was busy elsewhere and I didn't go.
Ann these Hydrenga are from the drive up to the house, the condominium maintains them. every year around end of Sept. they hack them off to the ground, by mid December they are in full bloom and last until end of January. yours should do the same because our climate is so simular.
ReplyDeletemost of all the flowers in my garden (the yard to you Americans) are planted by Manuel - the gardener, he finds plants in the forest and brings them to the house. every year something new pops out. I think the birds bring seeds too. all the trees have orchids and bromeliads going on them - they don't all bloom but looks interesting.
I am so relaxed while looking the flowers on this post. I never get a chance to see flowers around me or I just forget to look around and find them or maybe i did not recognize or noticed them? I know you love flowers very much. And thank you for sharing them Ginger V. Thanks for posting my paragraph anyways. I really appreciate it. You and Chef E and the rest of the team town blogger.

ReplyDeleteI was hoping for some wonderful flower shots and you have really come through. Your pictures are so crystal clear with such rich color and I like to enlarge them to look at the details. The field of lavender that I photographed must remind you of the bluebells of Texas, but indeed it is lavender grown by a neighbor; she gives bundles of it to all of us every summer.
