Bogotá, Columbia – Museo del Oro (The Gold Museum)

I will tell this story only in Photos; please click the ‘view full album’ below then click slideshow.

As in most museums you are not allowed to use flash, I had some problems with blurring.  The contrast between the modern setting of the museum and the ancient artifact was very striking.

  2. oh you bad girl.... in this country you don't even consider joking with the police or stealing anything... yesterday while at the museum there was a special saints day service at a cathedral and a protest accross the street in front of a government building and there were police everywhere with big guns and shields that said don't mess with me...
hot bunns has been sick this whole trip, I think alergies - right now he is napping (again!)

Wow, who ever thought that I would get to travel and see the world right from the comfort of my chair whil I listen to Simply Red on YouTube!! Take care, have fun, and I hope that hubby is feeling better! Debby

  6. Those photos are just gorgeous. You should not have mentioned the blurred photos. They are so beautiful, no one would have noticed.

I think I'll take the colored beads.

Nice to know you are enjoying everything. You are really painting the town, GingerV. Do you want to adopt me?

  9. Your shots were amazing and wonderful and for me they also suddenly brought back a rush of memories. I remember going to the Museo del Oro years and years ago when I was in Colombia. I had forgotten it until this morning! Thank you for bringing it back. I remember, then, there was an exhibit room on "Pirates and Cutthroats" and the pirates were all the heroes American History books had told me were famous explorers. History depends on what country you live in.
