First day – sixtieth year!

Yep! It is that time of year again, the time you have to face facts and resolve to make it through one more year with grace.  Today I turn 59 - not having any special birthday plans to write about and the fact that I don't end up on the front side of a camera (or the wrong side), I thought that a run through of some photos that include me in other good times would be a way to celebrate. [if photos are small - double click to enlarge] The majority that I found are in 'My Family' or 'Friends' folders and they show me often in good ways and bad, heavy, thin and at times well into the wine bottle. I hope you enjoy a glimpse into "my life past" and have good thoughts for my life future.

This ended up being a very good exercise in review - I have no current photos with my daughter, grandchildren or my mother - this must be corrected.

  1. Dear GingerV, May I wish you a Happy Birthday altho' we have not met yet. On my 60th b.day I was told that Chinese people call the 60th the first real b.day, true or not I don't know but quite consoling so you see you are not even grown up yet ! ? Peter UK

  2. Feliz aniversário, you young whipper-snapper.

In a few months I will be 5 years older than you. My husband's birthday was yesterday. All he wanted was to take a walk at a local park (beautiful Spring-like day) and bring home Chinese take-out. So that is what we did.

I hear most of Brazil has been having hot, dry weather, but you always say it is damp in your area. Hope you had a nice day.

    Abraços.

  3. is VERY damp during rainy season which was at least a month shorter than usual. Today in Rio is hot with humidity which feels like 90% - we ate out last night and sat on a veranda - I came home with wet hair all along my colar.

    thanks for the well wishes.
